PacificPoint StrategyWorks was built on a pragmatic conviction: most growth problems aren’t complicated once you can see them clearly.
The challenge is that when you’re running an organization — managing people, deadlines, budgets, and expectations — it’s hard to step back and see the full picture. Strategy gets reactive. Priorities multiply. The things that drive growth get crowded out by the things that need attention today.
That’s where we come in.
What We Do
We work alongside business and nonprofit leaders to find where growth is getting stuck, align the moving parts that drive it, and build practical plans that create real results.
We’re not here to impress you with frameworks you’ll never use or reports that live in a drawer. We’re here to make your organization move better — with more clarity, more alignment, and more confidence in where you’re headed.
Most engagements start with a Growth Assessment: an objective look at how your organization generates revenue or funding, where alignment breaks down, and what to focus on first. From there, we work at whatever depth makes sense — from a focused strategic reset to ongoing advisory support.
How We Work
- We earn trust by being direct — including when the conversation is uncomfortable.
- We simplify, not complicate. You should always know what we’re doing and why.
- We’re practical first. A strategy no one can execute isn’t a strategy — it’s a document.
- We work as partners, not vendors. Your success is the only measure of ours.
Flexible Team
Every engagement is led by Tom Tarr. When a project calls for additional and specialized expertise he draws on a trusted network of experienced professionals who have worked together across a wide range of industries and initiatives.
The team is built around what you need. Not around who we have on staff.
Tom Tarr — Founder & Senior Consultant

“I started this firm because I kept seeing the same pattern: great organizations, talented people, genuine effort — but general frustration and lackluster progress. The problem was almost never what they thought it was.”
Tom Tarr is a strategic growth leader with more than 35 years of experience across business development, marketing, fundraising, strategic planning, and go-to-market execution.
Throughout his career, he has worked with leadership teams and boards across healthcare, nonprofit, professional service, and national brand environments — helping organizations of every size and complexity move from fragmented effort to aligned growth.
His experience spans some of the most demanding environments in each sector: national healthcare initiatives, major consumer brands, management consulting, professional associations, and community-based nonprofits. He’s equally at home in a boardroom strategy session and a frontline fundraising conversation — because he’s led both.
Tom founded PacificPoint StrategyWorks on a straightforward premise: most organizations already have what they need to grow. What they’re missing is clarity about where to focus and alignment around how to get there.
Tom recently completed specialized training in Interim Nonprofit Executive Leadership and Interim Chief Development Executive leadership, deepening his expertise in governance, leadership transition, fundraising strategy, and organizational assessment.
Lawrence Kirsch — Senior Consultant

Larry Kirsch has spent more than 40 years helping small and mid-sized businesses perform better. He specializes in strategic planning, succession planning, and marketing and sales — and he brings something most consultants can’t: he’s built and run businesses himself.
His career spans global corporations and entrepreneurship in equal measure. He led competitive analysis for major consumer brands at Beecham Products (now GlaxoSmithKline), supported international product development at VOEST Alpine, founded three companies, and helped engineer a strategic turnaround as VP of Marketing for The Kirlin Corporation.
Larry also serves as a Distinguished Faculty Member at the University of Phoenix, teaching MBA candidates in strategic management and advanced marketing, and has advised emerging companies through CONNECT and Pacific Community Ventures.
PRAGMATIC EXPERIENCE
PacificPoint StrategyWorks brings a specific range and depth of experience to every engagement. Direct experience working in complex organizational environments — from national healthcare and brand initiatives to community-based nonprofits.

Start with a conversation. It’s free, there’s no pitch, and most people leave with at least one thing they didn’t see before.
